The Battle of Dömitz took place on 22 October 1635, during the Thirty Years' War. A Saxon force led by von Baudissin was besieging Dömitz Fortress when it was surprised by a Swedish relief column under Patrick Ruthven. The Saxon troops suffered between 3,500 and 5,000 casualties, including 2,500 prisoners who were incorporated into the Swedish army.
