Spachea is a genus in the family Malpighiaceae. Spachea comprises five species of shrubs and trees growing in wet forests. One species (Spachea martiana) occurs in Cuba, one species in southern Central America, and three species in northern South America (including Trinidad).
Spachea perforata (now Spachea elegans), common name soufriere tree, is the national flower of St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
