Second run

"Second run" is the final broadcast run of Futurama, following the show's second cancellation.

The second run follows the first run, but does not by nature include season 5, as it is derived from the four Direct-to-DVD films, and cannot truly be considered a run.

Comedy Central's branding of broadcast seasons

While Comedy Central used the branding of the original run as Fox's 5 seasons, they began airing season 6 as 'season 6', labelling season 5 as a season of 'specials'. However, what would become broadcast season 8 was not branded as 'season 7', but as 'season 6B' by Comedy Central, perhaps to indicate Comedy Central's aspiration to respect the creators and the fans of the show, both of which extensively use the production order conversely to the broadcast order. Comedy Central also branded its two broadcast seasons of season 7 as 'season 7A' and 'season 7B' respectively.
