Drider (5e Class)
Drider
Your prayers have been answered; the Queen of the Demonweb Pits has looked upon you. Whether you failed her tests or asked for this curse as a blessing, your queen has painfully twisted your body into the visage of her most recognizable servants.
Class Features
As a Drider you gain the following class features.
- Hit Points
Hit Dice: 1d8 per Drider level
Hit Points at 1st Level: 8 + Constitution modifier
Hit Points at Higher Levels: 1d8 (or 5) + Constitution modifier per Drider levelafter 1st
- Proficiencies
Armor: Light armor, medium armor
Weapons: simple weapons, martial weapons
Tools: None
Saving Throws: Constitution, Intelligence
Skills: Choose two skills from Acrobatics, Animal Handling, Athletics, Insight, Intimidation, Perception, Stealth, and Survival
Equipment
You start with the following equipment, in addition to the equipment granted by your background:
- (a) a longbow and 20 arrows or (b) a longsword
- (a) leather armor, a longbow, and 20 arrows or (b) a breastplate

Arachnid
At 1st level, your lower body becomes that of a giant spider. Your size increases to Large, though you still wield weapons as if you were Medium, and you gain a climbing speed equal to your walking speed. Additionally, your type becomes Monstrosity.
Web Walker
At 2nd level, your pointed legs are adept at scaling walls. You ignore movement restrictions caused by webbing, and you can climb difficult surfaces, including upside down on ceilings, without needing to make an ability check.
Lolth's Kiss
At 3rd level, your teeth drip with Lolth's venom. Your bite is a natural weapon, which you can use to make unarmed strikes. If you hit with it, you deal piercing damage equal to 1d4 + your Strength modifier plus 2d8 poison damage, instead of the bludgeoning damage normal for an unarmed strike. You may only make one bite attack on each of your turns.
Ability Score Increase
When you reach 4th level, you can increase one ability score of your choice by 2, or you can increase two ability scores of your choice by 1. As normal, you can't increase an ability score above 20 using this feature.
Extra Attack
Beginning at 5th level, you can attack twice, instead of once, whenever you take the Attack action on your turn.
Dripping Mandibles
At 6th level, at the end of each long rest, you produce a number of doses of venom equal to your Constitution modifier. If these doses are not contained within a sealed container, they evaporate after 1 hour, otherwise they lose their potency at the end of your next long rest. If a creature takes damage from a weapon or piece of ammunition coated in this poison, they take an additional 1d8 poison damage.
Alternate Feature: Silkweaver
At 6th level, your thorax is able to produce a durable silk. At the end of each long rest, you produce a bundle of magical silk that acts as a Rope of Entanglement, but does not regain hit points and loses its magical properties at the end of your next long rest.
Multiclassing
Prerequisites. To qualify for multiclassing into the drider class, you must meet these prerequisites: Wisdom 13
Proficiencies. When you multiclass into the drider class, you gain the following proficiencies: Intimidation
