Skyrim Very Special Edition
Skyrim Very Special Edition is a adaptation of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim for Amazon Alexa produced by Bethesda. The game is entirely controlled via voice or text chat with Alexa, and allows the player to dungeon crawl on a variety of fetch quests in the Skyrim setting.
Get it by asking Alexa to play Skyrim, or see its skill page on Amazon here. A trailer can be watched on YouTube here. Despite being somewhat of a joke game, it is real, and was released around 2018. It continues to be available as freeware.
Tropes used in Skyrim Very Special Edition include:
- Bandit Mook: These can harass the player as a basic enemy encountered on a quest.
- Big Badass Wolf: A single black wolf is one of the enemies the player may encounter, and can be rather resistant at lower levels.
- Continuity Nod: Just as in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, an adoring fan can stalk the player character.
- Dungeon Crawling: Most of the quests involve the player doing this.
- Fetch Quest: Most quests take the format of an NPC asking to retrieve an object important to them.
- Healing Potion: The player can find these to recover health.
- Hit Points: The player character has a limited number of these, starting at 100.
- Loony Fan: An adoring fan can be encountered, with the description noting that he is harmless, but extremely annoying.
- Make Me Wanna Shout: The player character can shout as an attack.
- Playing with Fire: One of the spells the player character can use sends flames at the enemy.
