Scott Pilgrim Takes Off

Scott Pilgrim Takes Off is an anime based on the Scott Pilgrim franchise.
The story starts off much the same, except the cast sees Scott Pilgrim defeated early on, drastically altering the course of the story, which now focuses on other characters who seek out the truth of what happened and who was behind his loss and disappearance.
It was animated by Science Saru, a Japanese studio. However a substantial amount, if not majority, of the direction, writing, and musical work was from western talent, leading to some contention as to whether or not it should be counted as Anime or Western Animation by some viewers. It was released in Fall 2023. It is available to stream on Netflix here.
