Tropes used in Saturday Morning Oppenheimer include:
- Artistic License History: The events are ultra condensed and exaggerated. Oppenheimer did not have a talking dog named Screwball.
- Big Red Button: One is pressed, complete with the label "PRESS TO LAUNCH BOMB THAT KILLS EVERYONE".
- Captain Obvious: Albert Einstein claims that using the bomb that kills everyone may have repercussions, which is promptly ignored.
- Comically Missing the Point: Oppenheimer is always on the cusp of realizing the ramifications of his actions, but quickly finds a justification or is otherwise distracted from any concerns.
- Dirty Communists: Inverted when Oppenheimer calls the communist party the bees knees.
- Einstein Hair: Downplayed, Einstein has unkempt hair, but is relatively normal otherwise.
- Flash Forward: Happens during the ending conversation between Einstein and Oppenheimer, where imagery of more technologically advanced weaponry is shown just before Oppenheimer declares that technology doesn’t need to get better and it’s good where it is.
- Heroic BSOD: Oppenheimer is visibly shaken when he is informed that his invention killed people. He gets better as soon as someone questions his use of the word "Zoopers".
- Nuke'Em: What happens when Oppenheimer presses the big red button.
- Signature Line: Discussed when Oppenheimer talks about his use of "Zoopers" as if this trope applied.
- Talking Animal: Oppenheimer has a talking dog named screwball. Oppenheimer seems to understand him, and Einstein lampshades it by asking if the dog laughed at him.
- X Meets Y: Oppenheimer meets Saturday morning cartoons.
- Your Cheating Heart: Oppenheimer cheating on his wife is Played for Laughs.
