Monster Girl Quest! Paradox RPG/Nightmare Fuel
While Monster Girl Quest! Paradox RPG is mostly an epic light-hearted adventure, it also has its dark and disturbing moments that only increase in number as the story progresses.
Spoiler ahead!
- Kanon's Botanical Garden.
- Sabasa's version of the Monster World. First, you hear rumors about how dangerous it is to approach the city, but no one is sure what happens inside it. Once you arrive and explore the city, you'll notice that people act strangely; they either talk about food most of the time or just stand in one place like mannequins, mumbling about how good it feels to be there. The situation becomes even more disturbing if you enter some houses, you'll see the inhabitants around tables enjoying their food... which happens to be human bodies.
- Finally, during the assault on the city, everything is revealed. The entire city is actually a gigantic digestive organ in disguise, the truth is that Sabasa and its inhabitants were all devoured by Hiruko a long time ago, the buildings, the objects, the plants, the water and even the people walking around are all Hiruko herself using her bizarre biology to recreate the appearance of a normal city. The real citizens, the humans, monsters, and even angels that have been unfortunate enough to have entered the city are treated as nothing more than stored food while being "rewarded" or brutally tortured for Hiruko's enjoyment.
