Monster Girl Quest! Paradox RPG/Funny
Funny moments in Monster Girl Quest! Paradox RPG include:
In General
- Ilias' constant suggestions on what to do with monsters are a constant source of Black Comedy.
- She advises Luka to kill an imp in a farmer's field (Rumi) and bury her, so her blood fertilizes the strawberries. Concerning said farmer whose right next to her.
- She has a... small breakdown upon learning that her beloved temple has become a safe-haven for monsters.
- When asked how to free those enthralled by The Seven Deadly Sins, Ilias can only offer up "...Murder?"
- Sonya's Clingy Jealous Girl moments. One example can be seen near the beginning, where a girl near Luka's inn makes a suggestive comment about its owner. Sonya responds with a succinct "Leave. Never come back".
- Rami's sidequest involves her learning how to fly, something she is uniquely unable to do thanks to her oversized breasts. She does this by throwing herself off the summits of mountains, and crashing unharmed thanks to the same oversized breasts. On top of that, this causes her to learn abilities that increase her defense. In Part 3, with the Promenstiens' help, use her as a test subject in a space suit out of Earth's atmosphere. The entire experience not only has her relent on her issues, but somehow empowers her moreso.
- The Gadabout Basic Job class encompasses the "Funny" trope a great deal, since 50% of the time they're likely to randomly goof off by doing pre-scripted events tied to them, such as attempting to do something, such as trying to get anyone/everyone's attention during battle, only for it to fail as well as randomly doing various things, sometimes a mix of positive and/or detrimental effects such as giving Luka (if he's in the active section of the party during a battle) the Horny status effect after doing something lewd such as flashing their boobs or so forth.
Part 1
- Prior to your first meeting with Nero, if you go out of your way to avoid the shifty stranger approaching at high speed, he'll eventually resort to stopping time to catch up.
- Pornof Village is populated almost entirely by perverted men, causing Sonya to make constant disgusted remarks. But one man actually gives Luka a solemn lecture about the importance of birth control and to be cognizant and considerate of the fact that, if something does goes amiss, it's the woman who will deal with the brunt of the consequences. Sonya's about to make a remark on his perversion before stopping herself and saying that that was actually very good advice.
- There's also the gay man who has an interest in young men like Luka. Sonya's complaint is the fact he's of the few NPCs with a portrait.
- In Harpy Village, examining the abandoned houses will have your party members comment on how strangely organized they are. After you talk to Nero at the top, it's revealed that he was the one who tidied things up. This includes arranging books in alphabetical order and tuning a piano.
- If travelling with Ilias, she'll teach Luka two skills; the holy attack like she does, and meditation. To use the holy attack, she states getting angry is key, so Luka thinks back to an argument he had with Sonya and accidently attacks her with some. If you are going the Sonya-less route, he'll still manage to hit her all the way back in Iliasville, with Sona
- While in Midas Village, you'll find it overcrowded with Slug Girls. Quite a few of them are a combination of freeloaders and pests:
- One feeding off the lettuce of a store, before being yelled out.
- A house has a house with a a couple of man and Slug Girl (if you have Ilias, she will of course freak out) and a second one that isn't related, but the man can't put out salt because of his wife.
- While Luddite Village is very much not played for laugh, seeing Ilias, who had always been against the progress of the world after awaking, going back on that after seeing the Village's state and its' "Archbishop" hypocrisy is both comical and a bit impressive.
Ilias: (After being told off by the Archbishop) You will regret this remark forever as you are scorched in the fires of hell for millions of years. |
- While in the Ancient Temple Ruins, the King of San Ilia will complain about assassination attempt that nearly killed him being a time bomb, ranting how the assailant could've used a more effective bomb.
- Mixed with Awesome, but the sheer fact that the King of San Ilia somehow becoming a mechanical cyborg compared is a hilarious contrast with his Visual Novel self.
- When you recruit him, the King will whip out a robotic double to answer the people's prayers in his absence. Sonya is left speechless, and Ilias is about ready to cry at how things have gone so wrong. And then it turns out that the double isn't perfect, so one of the men present has to cough just to keep up the charade.
- The entirety of the Haunted Mansion:
- The ghosts in the kitchen, who will immediately attack if you touch the cake they're preparing.
- The dining room full of all kinds of undead. When you enter, the lights go out intermittently, leading to scenes where your party members are surrounded by undead and absolutely terrified.
- The zombies in the basement are dancing to none other than Michael Jackson's Thriller. Unlike the other examples, you don't need to fight them to complete the mansion's sidequest, so you can leave them to dance forever.
- And of course everything to do with Chrome. When she flees via a secret passageway, you can easily find it because she left a note on it lying around (protected by a code only a child would use). When she attempts to drop the party with a hidden trapdoor, she doesn't realize that she's the one standing on it. When she orders her zombies to throw 'them' out, they throw her out of the room instead.
- The reason Justice Kaiser wants the party to handle Eva is because she can't do it herself, as her costume means she quickly overheats if she exerts herself. Sonya repeatedly points out that she could just take the costume off, only to be repeatedly ignored.
- Saki's influence over the population of Grandeur is so strong, that random citizens (even the city guards) will pepper their speech with words like "sparkle".
- Gnome and Nuruko make friends with each other. But they're both examples of The Unintelligible, and they don't mutually understand each other. Instead, Sylph has to interpret for Gnome while Sonya has to interpret for Nuruko. Luka even lampshades how strange this is.
Part 2
- Bonnie, the incompetent captain of the Fishy Pirates. She's the mermaid counterpart to Rami, being unable to swim as her breasts are too buoyant and throw off her balance. When you first meet her, a Nekomata is sitting in the captain's chair while Bonnie herself is in the ship's food stores, snacking away. If you choose to side with the pirates, you find her doing this again. Both times, her more competent vice captain Ashel complains about this.
- The members of Black Alice's faction are imposing when first introduced, but when you get to know them...
- Sun Wukong is sent to recruit the minotaur race. However, the Cow Demon Queen has put on a sukiyaki buffet in order to attract minotaurs to her cause, and Sun Wukong forgets her mission and gorges herself on the sukiyaki. When you meet her, she accidentally explains her mission, then challenges the party to a fight. After losing, she claims she must have eaten too much sukiyaki and runs away.
- Quetzalcoatl and Tezcatlipoca absolutely hate each other, preventing them from properly carrying out Black Alice's orders. When sent to recruit the plant and insect races, they argue with each other, and eventually, they each take command of one race and send it to attack the other. The fights between the two mythical monsters are illustrated with cartoonish pictures, one of which has Tezcatlipoca Flipping the Bird at Quetzalcoatl. If you choose the option of bringing about peace between the plants and insects, one reason why the plant and insect leaders agree is to avoid being seen as undignified as these two.
- Speaking of Sun Wukong, the entire Minotaur sidequest. From the Demon Cow Queen setting an obvious "sukiyaki party" trap to unite all Minotaurs, to the revelation that there was no trap at all, to the aforementioned antics of Sun Wukong, finally ending with Demon Cow Queen's plans being foiled by her own lack of foresight and Sun Wukong eating her entire supply of food. Ilias sums it up perfectly:
"In the end, the problem solved itself because everyone involved was an idiot." |
- After Grangold Castle collapses, the party laments the deaths of those inside, including Tamamo, Alma Elma, Nero, and Neris. Then these four appear, completely unharmed, and reveal that they rescued everyone else as well. Ilias complains how everyone survived.
- When Captian Selene reveals the truth and passes away, Alice faints upright, as expected. Ilias? She straight-up ascends in sheer terror.
- The Beelzebubs, three legendary monsters of ancient times sealed away by magic, manage to escape after being defeated by the party and head straight to the human town of Grangold to terrorize the local populace... who are completely unfazed by them due to far more shocking recent events. The Beelzebubs are so depressed by the turn of events that they just go to Yamatai Village and quietly start eating takoyaki amongst the locals.
- The elf princess is unmarried due to having a very specific standard for men. When Luka's party wants to meet the princess, the Queen Elf sends an image of Luka's face over... and she falls in love with him at first sight, agreeing to the meeting. There, she doesn't show her face, instead remaining behind a screen and having a servant handle all of the interaction. The princess not only hands over the orb he's after, but also a lot of other gifts including a legendary sword. Several party members find this disturbing, especially Sonya. Eventually, Sonya is fed up with it and confronts her newfound rival personally.
Collaboration Scenario
- Depending on your take, the sheer fact one of the original seven heroes was just a normal survivor in a Hentai/Escape game... and he's already dead by the time the event starts. (Thankfully, the position is given to Luka after some negotiating with the Succubus Prison villains.)
- A rather Black Comedy moment happens when Lest tells Novissa that his love Tarsa, while Brainwashed and Crazy, assaulted him and several others men. Novissa's reaction makes it clear he already knew something like this would happen, but he's be fine with it.
- After all seven heroes successfully fend off the Queen of Dreams' Alliance members during the Collab Event's story and link up with each other, the three silent heroes that are Lars, Novissa and Lauratt remain silent when Alice/Ilias tells them that they are eerily silent most of the time and asks if that's a normal thing for them, in which Rovissa says that you can basically tell what they say via their eye expressions and after all three silent heroes give their silent responses, Luka attempts to copy them so that it'd be easier for him as well, only for Alice/Ilias to please not be silent like the other three are.
Alice: No, no, not you, too! |
- There's also the fact that all three silent heroes are the ones who can do pleasure attacks. Alice/Ilias wonders if that's a common theme amongst them.
- Gilgorn is subject to much misfortune due to her Weaksauce Weakness of Pleasure attacks despite her insane status. And when we say, "weakness", we mean she falls over at even the slightest bit of Pleasure (She takes 300%% extra damage from Pleasure).
- To recruit her post-Collab event, with help from Fulbeua, Lauratt effortlessly shatters her Pleasure-cancelling barrier before traumatizing the poor Demon Lord into compliance.
- During the Collaboration Event's Strategy Meeting in Chapter 11, the Queen of Grand Noah is ashamed of being brainwashed by the Queen of Dreams, the three rulers of Grangold, Sabasa and San Ilia comfort her by saying that being manipulated by another is an important lesson in becoming a better ruler, Sara nails it oh-so very nicely-yet-hilariously.

Part 3
Destroyer of the Angelic Dominion
TBA
Judgement of the Monster Realm
- In an early quest in the Monster World, the villain of the plot turns out to be none other than the Monster World version of Eva, the lazy succubus. After defeating her, she tries to launch into a sad backstory, with the music turning somber to match, but Ilias shouts "No no no, BGM stop!" and switches it for the "light-hearted comedy" music track, saying they're not going to be doing the "tragic villain backstory" thing and Eva's misfortunes don't deserve anything else. Cue Queen Eva complaining how unfitting the new soundtrack is for her backstory.
Third Way
- Near the start of the final route, Marcellus muses that if Luka is the Father of Chaos, then that logically would make him the Grandfather of Chaos, and Lucifina would be-- Ma'am Shock at which point he feels an intense death glare coming from Lucifina and decides not to finish that thought.
- To finally recruit Erubetie, who is still sulking despite Alice's best attempts, cue Lucifina barging in with something to say:
Lucifina: Ah, geez… How long are you going to sulk? Every time we face each other, you sulk. How bad are you…? Look… look at Master Ilias. |
- To bring back Sub-Ilias, who was executed, Luka and the group need to locate the Seven Archangels naturally, this includes Gabriela. Not only does Ilias initially refuse to take her to the ritual, but when actually brought in later on, Luka finds her comically beaten up by the other Archangels (complete with CG close-up of her bruised face). Upon remembering why, Luka promptly says she deserves it.
- Template:Spoiker
- In Fairy Island, there's a momument that asks you to give up four powerful grade weapons to claim an even stronger one. Upon getting the offered sword, Ilias threatens the monument to return the weapons you offered. The second time this happens, Ilias needs only remind the monument, it not wanting to be threatened again.
- During the true ending credits, we get to witness Luka and Chaos bonding as the two Set Right What Once Went Wrong. Highlights include: Luka stopping Cleo Adra from fighting Koron. Cue a pissed off Void Dragon wanting to challenge Chaos to a duel, only for Luka to flee and Chaos to follow after him, leaving Koron flummoxed and pissed. Stopping Black Alice and Heinrich's deaths, with Chaos outright kicking Ilias away as per the old saying, "interfering with one's love life will be kicked to death by a horse." Preventing Black Alice's revival/ascension as the Goddess of Chaos by having Chaos herself show up in her place with a JoJo reference.
- This is followed up after the credits, where, after a touching scene of the girls prepared to wait for Luka as he fixes the timelines, cue him suddenly arriving in front of them. As it turns out, it really did take him a long time. But then he tried to timeslip back to just after the final battle, only to show up a little bit afterwards.
Alice: You, anything goes now, huh? |
Ilias: You've completely lost your humanity, haven't you? |
- The Whiteyel Conference Quest has the entire Whiteyel species trying to move past their adoration as "mascots" (being given gifts, getting pets, etc..) by visiting the Seven Archangels, despite Ilias's warnings that they should be happy with their lot in life. Keep in mind, they are child-sized angels with large bosoms and cat ears. The three "representatives" go by Cake, Parfait, and Choco, not helping matters at all. The following actions (Meeting in Tanuki Village to fluff the tanuki's bellies, playing with a dragonfly, not realizing they'd lose their gifts) only dig them deeper. The following interactions are hilarious in of itself.
- Raphaela: Naturally coos over the three before giving them somewhat good advice. When leaving, it turns out she kept Choco for herself, and the Whiteyel has to be saved.
Alice: Honestly... that one will get arrested someday. |
- Micaela: Gives the Whiteyels chocolate (despite being naked)... and then realizes her mistake when the Whiteyels explain their situation. Then they learn that Micaela got the chocolate from citizens on a walk (with Ilias and Alice both realizing back when they were sealed, they've also received sweets from civilians.) The Whiteyels write Micaela off as hopeless from escaping being a "mascot" either, as they enjoy their chocolate. Afterwards, Lucifina asks why the Whiteyels don't consult her, and accidentally scares them in response, or as Luka calls it, "bullying". Ilias even gets a sick burn in, given the usual dynamic.
Ilias: In this world, there is no being more unsuitable to consult with than you. I will call on you when I need to destroy the moon. |
- Metatrone and Sandalphone: Metatrone gets upset that angels get sweets just for walking, despite not getting any herself. It only gets worse when she learns her sister ALSO received gifts despite totting a huge gun like she does, resulting in her flying off to get sweets, just to rub salt, Choco gives Sandalphone chocolate.
- Uriela: Bluntly tells them to use violence and strength to make people fear them... and then begins to worry that, despite their status as mid-rank angels, they are treated so "differently". Not even Granberia can offer much advice to calm Uriela's concerns.
- Gabriela: Turns out when she isn't in the party, she's kept in the prison within Grangold Castle. And has been eating nothing but newspaper scraps. That alone would be comical, but to motivate her, Ilias promised to give her a single acorn. Gaberila's advice? Betray Heaven and join the Evil God's side. Suffice it to say, no acorn for her. (The Whiteyels still give her sweets in spite of that.)
- Sariela: Bluntly gives a warning that they'd lose their privileges as "mascots". The Whiteyels give her sweets, causing her to actually smile! ...and then cause her facial muscles to cramp as she not used to that.
- Sub-Ilias: Despite Ilias's warnings, her counterpart would just give the Whiteyels a vague answer to dodge the issue; they find her not in Ilias Temple, but in fact Yamatai... lazing about watching animal documentaries and eating junk food. And indeed, Sub-Ilias gives the angels a vague answer that's basically Ilias's initial advice for them. And hilariously enough, it works!
- In the aftermath of said meeting, Alice thinks Sub-Ilias is just pretending to be a Lazy Bum, but Ilias believes that her counterpart has fallen as a result of the stress from all the routes, her deaths being the turning point. Luka wonders why, since he's been killed many times yet is still fine.
Ilias: Please don't compare me to a monster like you. I'm actually quite sensitive, you know. |
