Evil Ernie: Revenge

Price did it. Price killed these dead onez. It's always Price! Revenge!

Evil Ernie: Revenge is a four-issue mini-series staring Evil-Ernie and published by Chaos! Comics. The series ran from October 1994 to February 1995, and was written by Brian Pulido and illustrated by Steven Hughes. It is the third mini-series, after Youth Gone Wild, and Resurrection.

The series is set after Ernie has dropped a satellite on New York city, and follows him as he personally hunts down and kills all the survivors of his attack, while his former therapists, Price and Young, are working with Ramsey and the military on a plan to stop him once and for all. They find a disturbed victim of Ernie's, Crush, in the wreckage of one of his attacks, and recruit him into their ranks. As this is going on, Lady Death, the source of Ernie's powers and subject of his affections, is tormented by nightmares as something stalks her in the Netherworld.

Revenge was a turning point for the franchise, introducing a number of characters and elements that would shape the series going forwards, including the first appearance of Purgatori, who would go on to star in her own series, and expanding Smiley's role in the story. It was later collected together in a single Trade Paperback.

It was followed by Evil Ernie: Straight to Hell and Lady Death: Between Heaven and Hell.

Tropes used in Evil Ernie: Revenge include:
  • An Arm and a Leg: Ernie tears off both of Price's arms in retaliation for encasing him in concrete.
"Yer goin' to pieces, doc!"
