It follows a group of high school students who attempt to survive when the year 2000 problem causes all technology worldwide to come to life and turn against humanity.

Y2K had its world premiere at South by Southwest on March 9, 2024, and was released theatrically in the United States by A24 on December 6, 2024. The film received mixed reviews from critics and grossed $4.5 million.
