The Turpan–Ürümqi–Dahuangshan Expressway (Chinese: 吐鲁番–乌鲁木齐–大黄山高速公路), commonly referred to as the Tuwuda Expressway (Chinese: 吐乌大高速公路), is an expressway in the Chinese autonomous region of Xinjiang linking Turpan, Ürümqi, and Dahuangshan, a mountain peak in Fukang. Construction began on March 21, 1995, and the expressway opened on August 20, 1998.
The project was built with the support of a $150 million World Bank loan.: 150 Currently, the section from Turpan to Xiaocaohu, at the interchange with G3012 Turpan–Hotan Expressway in Toksun, is not built to expressway standards, with grade-separated junctions. However, an expansion project is underway to upgrade this section of expressway to expressway standards, as well as expand the remainder of the expressway from 4 to 8 lanes.
