Trevor Robert Milton (born April 6, 1982) is an American entrepreneur who was the founder and former executive chairman and CEO of Nikola Corporation. In 2020, Milton resigned as executive chairman of Nikola following regulatory inquiries. In 2022, he was found guilty of securities and wire fraud. He was sentenced to four years in prison, a US$1 million fine and $168 million in restitution. He remained free on bail while appealing his sentence.
A month before the 2024 presidential election, Milton and his wife donated more than $1.8 million to Donald Trump's presidential campaign. In March 2025, he was given a full pardon by President Donald Trump. As a result of the pardon, Milton will not need to compensate Nikola shareholders, who lost tens of millions of dollars.
