Toy Story 5 is an upcoming American animated comedy film produced by Pixar Animation Studios for Walt Disney Pictures. It is being written and directed by Andrew Stanton, and produced by Jessica Choi. The sequel to Toy Story 4 (2019), it is the fifth installment in Pixar's Toy Story film series. Tom Hanks, Tim Allen, and Joan Cusack are set to reprise their respective roles of Woody, Buzz Lightyear, and Jessie from the first four films, with Anna Faris, Ernie Hudson, and Conan O'Brien joining the cast.
Allen expressed interest in making a fifth main Toy Story film in February 2019, and while Hanks said in May that Toy Story 4 would be the final film in the series, the possibility of a fifth main film had not been ruled out. Development on a fifth main film was confirmed in February 2023, with Hanks and Allen set to return. Stanton was announced as the director in June 2024, and was confirmed to be writing it two months later. It will be the first film in the main franchise to be made without any involvement from John Lasseter, who was relieved of directing duties and later left Pixar during the development of Toy Story 4.
Toy Story 5 is scheduled to be released in theaters in the United States on June 19, 2026.
