Thisted Municipality (Danish: Thisted Kommune) is a kommune in North Jutland Region, Denmark. The municipality covers an area of 1,072 km², and has a total population of 42,698 (2025). The main town and the site of its municipal council is the town of Thisted.
On 1 January 2007 Thisted municipality was, as the result of Kommunalreformen ("The Municipal Reform" of 2007), merged with Hanstholm and Sydthy municipalities to form a new Thisted municipality.
