The Mysterious Gaze of the Flamingo (Spanish: La misteriosa mirada del flamenco) is a 2025 drama film directed and written by Diego Céspedes in his feature debut. Set in a remote mining town in northern Chile in 1984, the film follows 12-year-old Lidia as she navigates fear and prejudice when a mysterious illness threatens her queer family and community.
The film is a French and Chilean-led international co-production with France, Belgium, Spain, and Germany. It had its world premiere in the Un Certain Regard section at the 78th Cannes Film Festival on 15 May 2025, where it won the top prize.
