Stasys Šalkauskis

Stasys Šalkauskis (May 16, 1896 in Ariogala, Lithuania – December 4, 1941 in Šiauliai, Soviet Union) was a Lithuanian philosopher, educator, rector of Vytautas Magnus University.

In 1935 he wrote a letter of protest to President Antanas Smetona, protesting against his introduction of an authoritarian regime in Lithuania.

He was married to Julija Šalkauskienė née Paltarokaitė.

The Stasys Šalkauskis Prize was established to commemorate him.
