Sita Ramam

Sita Ramam (transl. Sita and Ram) is a 2022 Indian Telugu-language period romantic drama film directed by Hanu Raghavapudi. Produced by C. Aswani Dutt, under Vyjayanthi Movies and Swapna Cinema, it starred Dulquer Salmaan and Mrunal Thakur in the titular roles, alongside Rashmika Mandanna.

Set in 1964, the film follows Lieutenant Ram, an orphaned army officer serving at the Kashmir border, who begins receiving anonymous love letters from Sita Mahalakshmi. This sparks Ram's mission to find Sita and propose his love. Principal photography began in April 2021 and concluded in April 2022, with filming taking place in Hyderabad, Kashmir and Russia. The film's music was composed by Vishal Chandrasekhar, and the cinematography was handled by P. S. Vinod and Shreyaas Krishna.

Sita Ramam released theatrically on 5 August 2022 to generally positive critical reviews praising Hanu's direction, story, screenplay, writing, soundtrack, musical score, emotional weight and performances (particularly those of Salmaan and Thakur). The film emerged as a major commercial success, grossing ₹100 crores at the box office, becoming the ninth highest-grossing Telugu film of 2022. The film fetched the state Gaddar Award for Best Feature Film.
