Shelley is a 2016 Danish drama horror film directed and co-written by Ali Abbasi (in his feature directorial debut) and stars Ellen Dorrit Petersen and Peter Christoffersen as a couple who, faced with the inability to bear children, arrange for their Romanian maid (Cosmina Stratan) to be a surrogate mother, soon leading to increasingly sinister events as the due date approaches. It was shown in the Panorama section at the 66th Berlin International Film Festival.
