"Practice What You Preach" is a song by American singer-songwriter Barry White, released in 1994 by A&M Records as the first single from the singer's nineteenth studio album, The Icon Is Love (1994). The song was written by White, Gerald Levert and Edwin Nicholas. It spent three weeks at number-one on the US Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart and reached number 18 on the Billboard Hot 100. The song became a gold record and also won a Soul Train Music Award for Best R&B/Soul Song of the Year. The accompanying music video was directed by Randee St. Nicholas.
