Považská Bystrica (Slovak pronunciation: [ˈpɔʋaʂskaː ˈbistritsa] ⓘ; German: Waagbistritz; Hungarian: Vágbeszterce) is a town in northwestern Slovakia. It is located on the Váh river, around 30 km from the city of Žilina. It belongs to Upper Váh region of tourism.
