Mavka (Ukrainian: Мавка [ˈmɑu̯kɐ]) or Nyavka (Ukrainian: Нявка [ˈnʲɑu̯kɐ]) is a type of female spirit in Ukrainian folklore and mythology. The Mavka is a long-haired "Soul of the Forest", typically depicted as a temptress figure who lures men to their deaths.
