David Lyndon Emsley FRSC (born 29 November 1964) is a British chemist specialising in solid-state nuclear magnetic resonance and a professor at EPFL (École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne). He was awarded the 2012 Grand Prix Charles-Leopold Mayer of the French Académie des Sciences and the 2015 Bourke Award of the Royal Society of Chemistry.

He was an editorial board member of the journal Magnetic Resonance in Chemistry from 2008 to 2010. He is a member of the Editorial Advisory Board of ChemPhysChem and Solid State Nuclear Magnetic Resonance. He is an associate editor of the Journal of the American Chemical Society.
