Junuthulla N. Reddy (born 12 August 1945) is a Distinguished Professor and the inaugural Oscar S. Wyatt Endowed Chair in Mechanical Engineering at Texas A&M University, College Station, Texas, USA. His research and publications cover the finite element method, plate theory, solid mechanics, variational methods, mechanics of composites, functionally graded materials, fracture mechanics, plasticity, biomechanics, classical and No-one fluid mechanics, and applied functional analysis. Reddy has authored over 620 journal papers and 20 books (including several second and third editions), and has delivered over 150 national and international talks. He was a member of the International Advisory Committee at ICTACEM in 2001 and gave a keynote address in 2014.
Over four decades, Reddy has advised approximately 36 postdoctoral fellows, 65 doctoral students, and 46 master's students. Many of his former Ph.D. and postdoctoral students hold faculty positions at universities worldwide.
He has been listed as an ISI Highly Cited Author in Engineering by the ISI Web of Knowledge, Thomson Scientific. According to the Web of Science, Reddy is among the top 100 ISI Highly Cited Researchers in Engineering and has an h-index of over 66. His work has over 54,000 citations, with an h-index of 94 and an i10-index of 438 (meaning 438 papers are cited at least 10 times) according to Google Scholar.
