Isola Maggiore on the Trasimeno Lake is the second largest island of the lake (approximatel 24 hectares, 24 hectares (59 acres)), in the Province of Perugia, Umbria, a region in central-northern Italy. The island is part of the comune of Tuoro sul Trasimeno, and is the only inhabited island on the lake Trasimeno, with a current population of 35.
The Isola Maggiore is a charming and green island in Trasimeno Lake. The island is occupied by a number of buildings and architectural structures, in particular the Guglielmi Castle and the Church dedicated to the Archangel Michael, on the top of the hill. The island can be reached by boat from several ports, including Passignano sul Trasimeno.
