Irawati Karve (15 December 1905 – 11 August 1970) was an Indian sociologist, anthropologist, educationist and writer from Maharashtra, India. She was one of the students of G.S. Ghurye, the founder of sociology in India. She has been regarded as the first female Indian sociologist.
