Hynčice (Czech pronunciation: [ˈɦɪntʃɪtsɛ], German: Heinzendorf bei Odrau) is a Silesian village, administratively part of Vražné municipality, located about 13 km west of Nový Jičín in Moravian-Silesian Region, Czech Republic. As of the 2021 census, the village reported a population of 197, marking a 15% decline from the 2001 census figure of 232. The name of the village is thought to derive from the given name Hynek (Heinz, in German). This village is renowned for being the birthplace of Gregor Mendel.
