Hamid Bovard (محمد اعظمی; born 1964) is an Iranian executive and politician who currently serves as the CEO of the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) and Deputy Minister of Petroleum. Bovard was sanctioned by the United States government in February 2025 due to his involvement in Iran's oil industry.
He holds a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Petroleum University of Technology and a master's degree in Executive Management from the Islamic Azad University Science and Research Branch. His career in the oil and gas industry began at the National Iranian South Oil Company.
Bovard served as Project Manager for special projects at the National Iranian Drilling Company from 2004 to 2006, and from 2006 to 2010, he was the Deputy Drilling Manager at the National Iranian South Oil Company. From 2010 to 2012, he was the CEO of the Marun Oil and Gas Production Company.
Between 2012 and 2014, he served as the CEO of the National Iranian South Oil Company. From 2014 to 2016, he worked as an advisor to the CEO of the National Iranian Oil Company and served as the CEO of the Iranian Oil Exploration Operations Company. From 2016 to 2019, he held the position of CEO at the Iranian Offshore Oil Company.
