Feedback (Janet Jackson song)

"Feedback" is a song by American singer Janet Jackson from her tenth studio album, Discipline (2008). It was released as the album's lead single on December 12, 2007, by Island Records. The song was written and produced by Rodney "Darkchild" Jerkins and Dernst "D'Mile" Emile, with additional writing from Tasleema Yasin and LaShawn Daniels. Musically, "Feedback" fuses electropop and contemporary R&B, while also incorporating elements of Eurodance and hip hop. The lyrical composition of the song is based on Jackson's sexual bravado; questioning the listener while responding with a chant of "sexy, sexy". Its chorus compares her body to instruments such as a guitar and amplifier, using metaphors to demonstrate sexual climax.

"Feedback" received positive reviews from music critics, who generally praised its dance sound and contrast from Jackson's previous studio album 20 Y.O. (2006). The song earned nominations for various awards, including three International Dance Music Awards. The accompanying music video for "Feedback" was directed by Saam Farahmand and filmed on a sound stage located in New York City. It shows Jackson jumping from various planets before dancing among an unidentified white liquid. The video was well received, with many media outlets praising its galactic visuals and choreography. Jackson performed "Feedback" on Good Morning America, The Ellen DeGeneres Show and TRL–the latter being Jackson's first appearance on MTV since her 2004 Super Bowl performance incident.
