The black-headed berryeater (Carpornis melanocephala) is a species of bird in the family Cotingidae. It is endemic to eastern Brazil.
Its natural habitat is subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests. It is threatened by habitat loss due to deforestation. They're uncommon to find, and they don't accompany mixed flocks. They have similar behavior to a Hooded berryeater, except for being as vocal.
