Andrés Roca Rey

Andrés Roca Rey (Lima, 21 October 1996) is a Peruvian matador. The film director Albert Serra has created a 2024 documentary film on him called Afternoons of Solitude (Tardes de soledad) which was awarded the Feroz Zinemaldia Award and the Golden Shell for best film at the San Sebastián International Film Festival in 2024.

In 2021, Christopher North conducted an English language interview with Andrés Roca for The Critic magazine, stating that Andrés Roca is arguably the best torero in the world now. In 2022 and 2024, North stated that Roca is the best torero in the world now.

Andrés Roca Rey is the younger brother of Fernando Roca Rey, also a matador. His uncle, José Antonio, was a rejoneador and his grandfather worked in bullfighting administration in Lima.
