Production
In June 2012, Countdown to Futurama introduced the old lady through a character design (released on 2 June) [1] and revealed some information about her - such as the fact that "she [showed] up very briefly" and the fact that she was one of two old ladies - through the fifth Futurama podcast (released on 5 June). [2]

- In the podcast, Futurama executive producer David X. Cohen joked that there "may have to be a spin-off" for the two old ladies - which he called Grandmothers on the Wing.
