Weave Shadows (5e Spell)
| Transmutation cantrip | |
| Casting time: | 1 action |
|---|---|
| Range: | 60 feet |
| Components: | S |
| Duration: | Up to 1 hour |
You change the form of shadows that you can see within range and that fits within a 5-foot cube. You affect it in one of the following ways:
- You instantaneously expand the shade to an adjacent 5-foot cube, provided that no light source exists in the new location. After 1 hour, the expanded shade returns to normal.
- You double or halve the deepness of the shade for 1 hour (dim light becomes darkness, or vice versa).
- You cause the shadows to instantaneously snuff out a candle, a torch, or another small flame.
- You change the form of the shade and animate it as you like. You might cause a creature's shadow to appear larger, shadows to thrash wildly at your feet, or cause darkness to pool into a simple shape. In any case, the shade remains animated for 1 hour.
Although this spell can create darkness, the darkness created by it is nonmagical.
If you cast this spell multiple times, you can have up to three of its non-instantaneous effects active at a time, and you can dismiss such an effect as an action.
