Standing Stones (The Elder Scrolls)

The Standing Stones are upright magical stones located throughout the province of Skyrim. Legend tells of the stones granting special powers to heroes of old, giving them the ability to rewrite their fate.

Guardian Stones

The Guardian Stones are a group of three Standing Stones, which can be found along the road of Riverwood.

Warrior

Those under the sign of The Warrior can gain proficiency in an extra saving throw. The default is Strength, but if the player already has proficiency in Strength then the next abilities are Constitution and Dexterity respectively.

Mage

Those under the sign of the Mage can gain proficiency in an extra saving throw. The default is Wisdom, but if the player already has proficiency in Wisdom then the next abilities are Intelligence and Charisma respectively.

Thief

Those under the sign of the Thief can gain proficiency in an extra saving throw. The default is Dexterity, but if the player already has proficiency in Dexterity then the next abilities are Charisma and Intelligence respectively.

Apprentice

Those under the sign of The Apprentice have advantage on spell attacks and disadvantage on saving throws made against spells from enemies. The Apprentice Stone is located on an island in the Hjaalmarch marsh, just north of Fort Snowhawk, west-northwest of Morthal.

Atronach

Those under the sign of The Atronach gain an extra spell slot in third level spells or lower. The Atronach Stone is located in the southernmost part of the hot springs of Eastmarch, northwest of Mistwatch and east-northeast of Darkwater Crossing.

Lady

Those under the sign of The Lady gain an extra level of hit points. The Lady Stone is located on an island in Lake Ilinalta, directly north of Falkreath, west of Riverwood.

Lord

Those under the sign of The Lord get a +1 bonus to their AC. The Lord Stone is located east of Morthal, northeast of the Shrine of Mehrunes Dagon, about one and a half times as far as Stonehills, on the mountain summit. Follow the path starting north of the Hall of the Vigilant to the shrine and the stone.

Lover

Those under the sign of The Lover always feel a Lover's Comfort. Their Proficiency Bonus increases by 1. The Lover Stone is located east of Markarth, north of Kolskeggr Mine.

Ritual

Those under the sign of The Ritual can cast animate dead without a spell slot. The Ritual Stone is located east of Whiterun, on the roadside, above the entrance to Graywinter Watch.

Serpent

Those under the sign of The Serpent can cast the spell hold person without a spell slot. The Serpent Stone is located directly east of the College of Winterhold and northeast of the Wreck of The Pride of Tel Vos, on an icy island in the Sea of Ghosts.

Shadow

Those under the sign of The Shadow can cast the spell invisibility without a spell slot. The Shadow Stone is located in a small mountain range south of Riften near Nightingale Hall.

Steed

Those under the sign of The Steed have no movement penalty while wearing armor of any kind. The Steed Stone is located west-northwest of Solitude, directly north of Statue to Meridia, near Ironback Hideout.

Tower

Those under the sign of The Tower can open any lock that isn't magically sealed without the use of thieve's tools. The Tower Stone is located about halfway between Dawnstar and Winterhold, on a high snow-covered cliff.
