Staff Sling (5e Equipment)

Martial Ranged Weapons

A staff with a short sling on one end. It launches much larger projectiles than a standard sling. It uses staff sling stones as ammunition.

A staff sling may be used to launch reasonably sized improvised weapons, such as flasks, up to 2 lbs in weight. You do not add your proficiency bonus to this attack roll unless you have proficiency with both the staff sling and improvised weapons. On a hit, the target takes 1d4 damage of an appropriate type decided by the GM, in addition to any effects intrinsic to the object.

An unloaded staff sling may be used as a quarterstaff in melee combat.
