Components: V, S, M (binoculars, a magnifying glsss, or similar objects)
Duration: Instantaneous

You observe the surrounding area, checking for certain things. Choose one type of item(swords, cloaks, boots, coins etc.), a creature type(abberations, humanoids etc.), or a specific creature kind (goblin, yelf, bugbear etc.). You release a 60 foot cone, originating from you, which scans the entire area. If the thing you chose is within the area and is not protected from divination magic, you instantly learn how many of the items or creatures there are. While this cone goes through solid objects, it is blocked by 20 feet of dirt, 10 feet of wood, 2 feet of stone, or 1 inch of lead.

At Higher Levels. When cast at 2nd level or higher, the cone’s range increases by 30 feet for every level above 1st.
