Poisoned Condition, Variant (5e Variant Rule)
This simple variant rule changes how the poisoned condition works with creatures that have vulnerability or resistance to poison damage without needing it to be said.
Poisoned
- A poisoned creature has disadvantage on attack rolls and ability checks.
- A creature that has vulnerability to poison damage has disadvantage on their saving throw against being poisoned, resistance to poison damage has advantage on their saving throw against being poisoned or immunity to poison damage has immunity to being poisoned.
- If a creature has an effect that ignores resistance to poison damage (like the Poisoner feat), the target doesn't have advantage on their saving throw against being poisoned.
- If a creature has an effect that treats immunity to poison damage as resistance to poison damage, the target's loses their immunity against being poison and has advantage on their saving throw against being poisoned instead.
