Nakus

Personality

Nakus are nomadic by nature, and grow uncomfortable with remaining in the same area for very long. Their population is divided into several tribes, each headed by a chief and his shamans. Nakus are bound by a strict honor code, that forbids the questioning of the workings of nature.

Physical Description

Nakus are typically thin and agile, and a thin layer of fur covers their entire form. This combines with their pointed ears and slitted eyes give them an almost feline appearance. They also possess sharp claws and teeth. Their fur typically ranges from orange to green to black, although various other colors do occur.

Relations

A typical Naku is friendly towards elves, mistrusting of humans and gnomes, and holds an all out hatred for dwarves and Kilij.

Naku prefer the open plains to any other form of land. They are uncomfortably claustrophobic in dense forests, and detest being underground.

Religion

Most Nakus primarily worship Amelatha, as well as the one-eyed god Gruumsh in times of war.

Language

Nakus speak Goblin amongst themselves, and most can also speak Common when dealing with other races.

Names

Naku names are typically a compound of two words, with adjectives followed by animals (i.e. Swifthawk, Strongbull) among the most common.

Naku base land speed is 30 feet. They may also dash once each day to gain an additional 30 feet per round for one round.
Plains Hunter: Nakus receive the Martial Weapon Proficiency feats for the longbow (including composite longbow), and shortbow (including composite shortbow) as bonus feats.
Perceptive Stalker: Nakus recieve an additional +4 to Search and Listen checks.
Spell-Like Ability: Beast Tongue: 1/day- The Naku attempts to communicate with a nearby animal. The animal obeys the Naku's command for 1d4+charisma modifier turns. A will saving throw of at least 10 will negate this affect.
Automatic Languages: Goblin and Common.
Favored Class: Ranger
