Mind Mage (5e Subclass)

Mind Mage

Wizard Subclass

The Mind Mages of the world aren't usually as flashy as other casters, manipulating the senses and minds of those around you or using your own mind to change the world around you. Being able to use their minds to influence the thoughts and perception of any creature, and to communicate trough thoughts, these wizards control this power form of subtle magic, that can sneakily invade their victims without them even noticing it.

Mind Magic

Starting at 2nd level, you learn additional spells when you reach certain levels in this class, as shown on the Mind Spells table. Each of these spells counts as a wizard spell for you, but it doesn't count against the number of wizard spells you learn each level.

Wizard LevelMind Magic Spells
1stcharm person,silent image
3rddetect thoughts, calm emotions
5thmajor image, hypnotic pattern
7thcharm monster, hallucinatory terrain
9thtelepathic bond, modify memory
Telepathic Speech

Starting at 2nd level, you can form a telepathic connection between your mind and the mind of another. You can telepathically speak to any creature you can see within 30 feet of you. You don't need to share a language with the creature for it to understand your telepathic utterances, but the creature must be able to understand at least one language.

Awakened Mind

Also at 6th level, whenever you cast a spell from your Mind Magic list, you cast it at one level higher. For example, if you cast charm person with a 1st-level spell slot, you are considered to have cast that spell at 2nd-level instead.

Alternatively, you can choose to cast these spells at a normal level, but without using material, verbal or somatic components, casting it subtly, with the pure power of your mind.

Mind Breaker

At 10th level, your spells from the enchantment and illusion schools ignore resistance to psychic damage and any immunity or advantage against the charmed and frightened conditions.

Superior Mind

When you reach the 14th level, your mind awaken its true potential. Your Intelligence score increase in 2, up to a maximum of 22.

In addition, you can cast detect thoughts at will, without spending spell slots.
