Marshal Bard (3.5e Alternate Class Feature)

3e Summary::Rather than pulling out your lute and strumming its strings mid-battle, you use your incredibly charismatic presence and innate leadership skills to marshal your allies to victory!

Class: Bard

Level: 1st

Replaces: All bardic music effects gained at 3rd level and beyond. You still qualify for feats and prestige classes that rely on bardic music, but not specific bardic music effects from the base class other than countersong and fascinate.

Benefit: Instead of learning how to rally your allies with song, you learn a single minor aura of the Marshal class (Miniatures Handbook, p. 11) at 3rd level. You learn an additional minor aura at 6th level and then again every three class levels thereafter. You must maintain concentration on keeping your aura up as if it were a spell. If you wish to cast a bard spell that requires concentration you must first drop your aura, which you may do as a free action.

This feature otherwise follows all of the same rules and guidelines laid out by the Marshal class.
