Ironthorn Flayer (3.5e Equipment)

Ironthorn Flayer: A crude whip made from Ironthorn vines.

Weak Abjuration; CL 5; Craft Magical Arms and Armor; Weight: 15 lb.

Based on Tales from my D&D Campaign.

This spiked chain is crude but extremely effective. It deals only 1d6 damage, but has an enhancement bonus of +1. Additionally, upon hitting an opponent, the wielder may choose to initiate a grapple with a +4 bonus to their check. On a success, the opponent takes 2d6+1+Str damage, and is subject to the vine's poison (Fort DC 23, Paralysis 1d4 minutes/2d4 Con)
