This spell tells the caster what type of undead a given creature is. It may be targeted on either a creature that the caster sees, or the killer of a corpse he can see or some other visible piece of destruction or death caused by undead. The caster must still make a Knowledge (necrology) check to know anything other than the name of the species (i.e. what is it immune to? what are its powers? etc).
