Greatsword of Unreliable Slaying (5e Equipment)

Weapon (greatsword), Very Rare (major tier) (requires attunement)

This magic Greatsword was created as a humorous gift to an old King. Never intended to be used in real battle, it is both incredibly frightening and vexing to use. It is capable of dealing incredibly high amounts of damage, to both the opponent and the wielder. Additionally, it also might cause creatures slashed by the Greatsword of Unreliable Slaying to heal the caused damage instead.

Special Magic Weapon. Attacks made with this greatsword have a bonus of +3 to your attacks and damage rolls with it.

Unreliability. Any attack roll must be accompanied by a d4 roll, which determine what is the effect of the attack, accordingly with the unreliability table below:

Unreliability Table
Number Rolled	Effect
1	The Sword will deal its damage to the wielder instead
2	Roll for damage. The target regains hit points equal to half the damage rolled, instead of taking damage
3	The attack happens as normal
4	The sword causes additional 2d4 necrotic damage to the target
