Fire Rod (5e Equipment)
Rod, common
This rod prominently features a red, spherical gemstone at its tip that is warm to the touch. While holding this rod, you can use it to perform either of the following attacks:
- Melee Weapon Attack. You swing the rod, making an attack roll (using your Strength modifier ) against a creature within your reach. On a hit, the target takes 1d4 + your Strength modifier bludgeoning damage plus 1 fire damage.
- Ranged Spell Attack (costs 1 mp). You loosen from the rod a mote of flame and make an attack roll against a creature or object within 90 feet. On a hit, the target takes 3d6 fire damage. You can add your spellcasting ability modifier to the attack roll of this attack. If you do not have a spellcasting feature, you add your Intelligence modifier instead. A flammable object hit by this attack ignites if it isn't being worn or carried.
Blazing Aura. The rod casts bright light in a 30-foot radius and dim light for an additional 30 feet. Additionally, a creature holding or carrying the rod does not need to make saving throws against extreme cold (see chapter 5 of the DMG).
