Chess Set (3.5e Equipment)
Enchanted Chess Set: A set of mythral chess pieces in a green leather bag with a black elastic cord. The bag can be strapped to the waist for quick use. The character can hold a chess piece in their hand for a special effect. Pulling out a specific piece is a move action, but if the character wants to pull out a random piece it's a single action and a 1d10.

| 1-2 | Pawn | 7 Mirror Images rise out of the ground and mimic the actions of the character holding the pawn. They expire when the pawn isn't in the holder's hand. |
| 3-4 | Rook | 2 Stone Animated Tower Shields rise out of the ground and levitate, protecting the character holding the rook from threats. They expire when the rook isn't in the holder's hand. |
| 5-6 | Knight | A large, quasi-real, horse-like creature rises out of the ground and becomes the holder's steed. It expires when the knight isn't in the holder's hand. |
| 7-8 | Bishop | The holder gains a +4 enhancement bonus to Intelligence, Wisdom, and Charisma. Spellcasters don't gain bonus spells, but the save DCs for spells they cast while under this effect do increase. This effect expires when the bishop isn't in the holder's hand. |
| 9 | Queen | The holder can teleport (with an 100% success chance) to any straight or diagonal position once a round. This effect expires when the queen isn't in the holder's hand. |
| 10 | King | If the holder is attacked, they're allowed a movement of 5 feet (even if it's not their turn) making the attack miss. This effect expires when the king isn't in the holder's hand. |
If used in a standard game of chess, the user gains a +8 enhancement bonus to Intelligence, Wisdom, and Charisma. Spellcasters don't gain bonus spells, but the save DCs for spells they cast while under this effect do increase. This effect expires when the game of chess ends.
