Breaching Shield (5e Equipment)

Breaching Shield

The curvature of a breaching shield wraps around the wielders body when properly raised, forming a barrier that prevents usage of the arms but provides superior protection. While it can still be wielded with one hand, it's far too unwieldy to offer protection in a duel. It is intended to absorb blows that the wielder knows are coming but can't react to.

While wearing this shield, you may use your action to raise it around your body for one round. As long as the shield is raised, creatures have disadvantage on any attack rolls made to hit you, and you provide total cover to any creatures your size or smaller.
