Between the size of true longswords and true greatswords, bastard greatswords are popularly known as "two-and-a-half-hand" swords. Their size gives them greater chopping power than a longsword, and better versatility than a greatsword.

Cumbersome. Due to the bastard greatsword's size and weight, it is considered to be unwieldy if you wield it in one hand while you aren't proficient.
