You summon a small bird and send it flying at a a creature within range. The bird is an ominous and cryptic omen that the target may not understand, causing mental stress to accumulate within the target. The target must make a Wisdom saving throw, taking psychic damage equal to 2d8 plus your spellcasting modifier on a failed save, or half as much on a success. If the target creature is immune to the frightened condition, it makes the Wisdom saving throw with advantage.
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 2nd level or higher, the damage increases by 1d8 for each slot level above 1st.
