Personality

Arkanians are a proud race, and see themselves as the pinnacle of evolution. They view other races as inferior to them, and are unafraid to show it. Even the most modest of Arkanians still believed themselves to be among the most intelligent species in the galaxy, making them less inclined to turn up their noses at other races.

Arkanians share average height and weight with humans, but in outward appearance, are strikingly different. Arkanians have 4 clawed fingers on each hand, pure white pupilless eyes, and stark silver hair.

Relations

Arkanians view other races as inferior, and view themselves as the pinnacle of evolution. As such, they generally appear aloof and arrogant to others, as they view themselves as above everyone else. They will often ignore the advice of other races, preferring their own solutions.

Alignment

Any, though they tend to be good or neutral.

Lands

Their home planet, Arkania, is covered in frozen tundra, and rich in minerals and gemstones. The Arkanians used their advanced intelligence to create temperate areas to live and work in, and as such, are comfortable in most climates. Over time, they have lost many of their cold weather adaptations.

Religion

They worship no specific deity, though they highly value scientific research and knowledge, and prize it above most things.

Arkanians speak common and Arkanian, the language of their homeworld and people.

Racial Traits

  • +4 Intelligence, +2 Any Stat, -2 Charisma: Arkanians are hyper-intelligent, and have an almost infinite number of subspecies due to constant genetic engineering, making them very versatile. Due to their innate arrogance, they often rub people the wrong way.

  • Arkanian base land speed is 30 feet.
  • Infravision (Ex): Arkanians can see on the infrared spectrum, granting them Superior Darkvision to a range of 120 feet.
  • Bright Light Sensitivity: Arkanians who are exposed to Bright Light without protective blinder glasses or goggles are dazed for 1d4+1 rounds.
  • Cybernetics (Ex): Arkanians are experts in the field of cybernetic enhancements, and as such, many are augmented in some way. Choose one Augment from the following list:

Enhanced Vision: Your cybernetics enhance your vision, doubling the range of your Superior Darkvision and granting you brightvision 60 ft. This enhancement nullifies the Bright Light Sensitivity ability.

Enhanced Speed: Your Cybernetics enhance your base speed, granting you an additional 10 feet to your Base Land Speed.

Linguist: Your cybernetics translate languages you can hear automatically. A number of times per day equal to half your ECL (Rounded up), you may recreate the effects of the Comprehend Languages spell, using your ECL as your caster level.

Connected: You can use your cybernetic to connect to the HoloNet to help find information you need. You may use all Knowledge skills as if you were trained in them, and gain a +2 to all Knowledge skill checks.

  • Automatic Languages: Arkanians begin the game speaking Common, Arkanian, and one other language of their choice from the list of available bonus languages. Bonus Languages: Arkanians with a high enough Intelligence score can pick any language as a bonus language, except for secret languages.
  • Favored Class: Wielder of the Force.
