You coat your weapon with the sapping power of Black Flame. The next time you hit a creature with a melee weapon attack during this spell’s duration, the Black Flame begins to consume the target, and the attack deals extra fire damage to the target equal to their CR (max. 15). Additionally, the target must succeed on a Constitution saving throw or take the extra fire damage again at the start of their next turn.

At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 4th level or higher, the maximum CR for this spell's damage increases by 5 for every two spell slots above 3rd.
